ABOUT THE DIET

Jared Fogle was once an overweight, out of shape man. One day he decided to try something new. A lighter diet which he hoped would help him lose some weight. his diet consisted of two Subway subs per day and a lot of walking. By the end of the year, he had lost an enormous amount of weight: A whopping 245 lbs! His diet is illustrated below:

DIET GUIDELINES

Lunch:

A six-inch turkey sub and a small bag of potato chips.

Dinner:

A foot long veggie sub.

Drinks:

Unlimited quantities of coffee and diet soda throughout the day.

Naturally, Jared opted for the healthier subs available at Subway, and did not overdo the condiments. In fact, he avoided mayonnaise and cheese for the entire year.

EXERCISE DURING THE DIET

During the beginning of the diet, at a bodyweight of 425 pounds, Jared did not do any exercise. As his weight dropped, he gradually increased his level of exercise throughout the day, starting with walking to classes instead of taking the bus. By the time he reached a bodyweight of 250 pounds, he was walking an average of 1.5 miles per day.

ADVANTAGES OF THE DIET

With the Subway diet, there is no cooking involved, no dishes, and no grocery shopping. In fact, it is probably the easiest possible diet to follow and stick with. While most diets are a chore, this one is actually very simple.

DISADVANTAGES OF THE DIET

This diet is very expensive and is lacking in necessary nutrients to preserve a healthy body, mind, energy levels and perhaps even consciousness.

CONCLUSION

Following the Subway diet, you are sure to lose weight. However, being a prisoner of war also has a positive correlation with weight loss. Unless you look forward to low energy levels and other side effects from too few vitamins & minerals, the Subway diet is one you will probably want to avoid. Jared deserves some credit for what he achieved, but there are far healthier ways to accomplish the same goals.
