Claim:

The Hollywood diet promises losses in fat of up to 10 pounds in only 48 hours. Using only a magical juice which contains a variety of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants which can be found in papayas, bananas, carrots, apricots, strawberries, blueberries and a number of other fruits and vegetables. The contents of which are said to not only put the body in an efficient fat burning state during that 48 hour period, but also help the body to prevent a number of other ailments ranging from bad breath to cancer and depression.

$20 a bottle.

This is the easy part. Find one bottle of the Hollywood diet drink and 48 hours of spare time. Rent some movies or a video game and ration the Hollywood juice carefully as it needs to last you two days.

EXERCISE DURING THE DIET

I couldn't imagine exercise being recommended for a diet such as this one, where calories are so restricted due to fasting. I would not advise exercise, as the probability of passing out will certainly increase.

ADVANTAGES OF THE DIET

Given it's short length, it is not as unhealthy as something like the Subway diet. It will also produce some weight loss, but the amount of time you will keep that weight off is anyone's guess.

With such a drastic reduction in overall calories, regardless of activity level, expect some dizziness and food cravings. Also at the rate of $20 for 48 hours of food, aside from not getting many calories to begin with, you are paying as much or more as you would be on a number of other food items which you could be eating during that time period. As well, your body will respond to any diets which are based on fasting by gaining the weight back. As mentioned above, the amount of time it takes for your body to do that depends on you, but rest assured, it will happen eventually, and this has been empirically proven.

This diet was made in Hollywood, as well as any other diet that believes a 48 hour fast will cause anyone to lose weight in the long term. Unless you only want to keep any weight you lose off for a very short period of time, I would not advise following this diet. If you want to lose weight and keep it off over the long term, this is not for you.
